Neighborhood guide
Water, sewer and trash are one city bill. The city provides no electric and no gas, and four different electric companies serve the town.
One bill covers water, sewer and trash. Electric is always a separate account, and so is gas where it is available.
Bring your lease when you start service. The city asks renters for a higher deposit than owners, and amounts are set by the city and can change. Confirm at 417-736-2154.
The billing calendar is tight. Bills are due on the 15th with a late fee the same evening, and service can be disconnected on the 25th.
For a water main break or a sewer backup after hours, the city directs residents to call 911.
The Strafford branch belongs to the Springfield-Greene County Library District, so your card works across Springfield too.
